Save on your Electricity with Community Solar

1st Bergen has partnered with Greater Bergen Community Action and Eversolar to bring clean energy and up to 45% savings in electricity costs to your home.

GBCA Community Solar is an NJ state-sponsored program that connects your public utility to a solar energy farm developed by Eversolar. The solar farm generates enough energy to power your home, and any extra energy is sold back to the utility as Solar Credits. These credits are passed along to you as a monthly discount of up to 45% of your electric bill, with no registration fees and no separate bill required.

How it Works

  1. Community Members enroll for free in community solar farm projects, like GBCA Community Solar

  2. Eversolar builds solar farms that generate more than enough solar electricity for every Community Solar subscriber, with current projects expected to be completed in Late 2025.

  3. Eversolar sells the energy to the electric grid, generating Solar Energy Credits

  4. The Solar Energy Credits are passed along to Community Solar subscribers as a bill discount on their regular electricity bill of at least 20% and up to 45% of their electric bill

How to Enroll

  1. Find your most recent electric utility bill from PSE&G, JCP&L, or Atlantic City Energy. You must receive your electricity from one of these three providers to be eligible for the program. You’ll need your account number to enroll.
